Review of Rebirth

Rebirth has been reviewed.  I'm really happy with it.  The url is following.  Mine is actually the second review from the top at this point.  Comment, people.  Make me feel loved.

  1. I loved this review, especially the recognition that this is Topher and Gavin's love story, but that the book touches on many, many aspects of love. I didn't have a problem with the overt sexuality. It wasn't exploitive; if just felt to me to be part of the complex portrayal of the characters. I don't think of Neil Gaiman or Peter Beagle as YPL; though I do Diane Wynne Jones (and I'm addicted to her work). The main characters in REBIRTH were, except for Jobi, in their twenties, and lived in a complex, realistic world.

I'd be curious as to what other readers thought about the sexuality in this book.

  2. I will spend some more time with the reviewers' blog, but I gotta say I think it really strange to comment negatively about the sexuality and not about the violence. Frankly, neither bother's me much, but it is the same as the TV standards where it is ok to show people being gutted but not to show a boob or a butt.
